Who am I?

When people ask us who we are, our normal reply is  I am Rob, I am Jo or I am Jenny, but these are only identity labels, and a way of making sure we know who’s who. They are not who we are, but they are who we are known as.

Some may say then, well ok “I am a doctor” or I am “a mechanic”, but this is still not who we are, it is only what we do.

Who we are is supremely important, because if we do not understand who we truly are, on what basis can we build our life, and it is here at this point that the battle rages and where men and woman are challenged to the very depths of their being.

God says

Gen 1:26 let us make man in our image.

The untruth of evolution says

You were not made but evolved from and single cell amoeba.

God says

2Co 6:18 and I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

The untruth of evolution says

You are a mistake and an orphan with no hope or destiny.

My friends we must know on what foundation we stand because from the heart springs the very issues of life and if we stand on an untruth then everything that we build our lives upon will be flawed.

I meet many people who have built their lives on an image that they themselves have constructed or have grabbed from somewhere else because it looked good; some of these are good some are not so good. But in the end they all fail because they are flawed with mans imperfection. We have all heard of the “ Mid life Crisis” well the crisis is that the image that people have built their lives on is collapsing around them.

Marriage crisis is primarily because men and woman enter the marriage covenant with their own self-built image, which cannot fit, into Gods design

Man cannot live alone, he was not designed to live without God when we do we get into trouble.

But if we build our lives on the rock of Gods truth then our house will stand

Matthew 7:25 and the rain came down, and the floods came, and

the winds blew and beat on that house. And it did not fall, for it

was founded on a rock.

God the Father created you and I in his image, and if we have been made in his image then we are part of the same royal family, heritage and bloodline.

Gal 3:26 for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

You and I are the apple of our Fathers eye, we are his beloved family, we are not orphans, or accidents of evolution.

We are called saints and ambassadors, we are called blessed and loved, we are Gods elect and his workmanship, we are part of his household.

But if this is who you and I truly are why don’t we feel like we are?

If this is the truth why is life so hard?

Why do we loose our Joy so readily if this is our condition?

Because the power of our surroundings says otherwise and many times our circumstance speaks so loudly that we loose sight of the truth.

Everyday we are challenged with “ Who are you, do you really believe that”

In the people we speak too, the programs we watch, the music we listen too.

When Jesus was being tempted in the desert, the thrust of Satan’s attack was:

“If you are”

It is no different today the challenge is still the same.

John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

John 1:5And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (Overcome it)

We are the light; we are the only light that the world will see.

The new creation of Christ calls us as we truly are.

But the world calls us as we were and questions the truth and say if you are.

To Quote

“ The fight of faith, is the struggle to believe the truth in a world that runs contrary”

                         TL Osborn

The world is dead in sin, but through Jesus we can live.

Life calls fourth change and growth.

Death only imprisons and holds captive.

Every moment as Christians we are challenged, but we must know that the same power of creation that arose Jesus from the grave exists within us. As Gods new creation

The gift of salvation gives us everything we need to live a victorious and overcoming life.

1Jo 4:4 You are of God, little children, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

This is why Jesus died, so we could become who we are created to be, he died and arose to confirm that we are free men and woman, a liberated blood washed people with a destiny a future and a Father that loves us without limits.

My dear friends our Father loves us, there is nothing hidden from his sight but still he loves us.

Christianity is not about getting it all right, its not about living a perfect life, its not about denominations or creed. But it is about relationship with the one who made us and created us.

As Gods elected representatives we are his people

 1Pe 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for possession, so that you might speak of the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
